Queens jubilee: Brushing up bunting, balloons, banners and bollinger

Veolia Environmental Services predicts it will collect around 30 tonnes of bunting, flags, banners and champagne bottles left by the expected one million Jubilee River Pageant spectators. As street parties are planned across the country, there are huge anticipated sales of flags, bunting, whistles and plastic cups, as well as food and drinks. This, coupled with 41 licenced food stands along the Pageant route, means the waste cleaned up could weigh as much as 60 of the great bells featuring in the Pageant’s floating belfry.
